My name is Liz Kreger. I live in the Allegheny Plateaus region of north-central Pennsylvania with my husband and two young sons. We're a hunting family; we live it, we breathe it, we don't always get it right.
My love for the outdoors began as a child. I was fortunate to grow up in a hunting family, exposed to all aspects of the lifestyle during childhood. Although I started hunting the PA rifle season at the age of 12, I found my true passion when I bought my first archery tag 4 years later.
Over the years it became undeniable that I wanted to pursue a career in wildlife and conservation. That lead me to earn an Associate of Science degree in Wildlife Technology from Penn State Dubois followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Penn State Main Campus, located in State College. Since that time, my job titles have included; Environmental Stewardship Park Ranger, Environmental/Wetland Technician, Watershed Specialist, Wildlife Biologist, and Soil Conservationist. I'm a member of the National Deer Association, The Sportsmen's Alliance, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and Pennsylvania Audubon.
I'm fortunate to have a career that enables me to connect with like-minded landowners and implement conservation practices on the ground. I'm hoping that through my blog and other media endeavors I connect with other conservationists, wildlife enthusiasts, and first-time hunters.
Hunting is conservation.
